ACRIN’s research objectives are developed within six scientific committees focused on cancer:  abdominal, breast, gynecologic, head and neck/neurological, thoracic and experimental imaging science.  The cardiovascular committee and neurosciences committee, established in 2007 and 2009, respectively, are focused on imaging research related to heart disease and neurological diseases such as stroke.

The pursuit of clinical trials based on these specific objects, and guided by ACRIN's overarching objectives, is expected to further ACRIN’s principal goal of increasing the length and quality of patients lives.
