Specific Objectives

  1. Identify unmet clinical needs that new imaging approaches (new instrumentation or new probes or new imaging protocols) can address with the guidance of the organ-based committees.
  2. Design small studies to test the ability of the novel imaging approaches to meet those needs.
  3. Use pilot studies to develop and test standardize methods for eventual use in multicenter studies of new imaging approaches.
  4. Use pilot studies to establish and test appropriate endpoints and study designs with the goal of designing future, larger trials of new imaging approaches.
